Begin with a good question

Published

This is a working example of a reading circle’s knowledge web. The group is exploring Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, using a shared question: how does a familiar world become strange?

Make the question useful

Choose a question that invites more than one answer and can be explored in the text. “What happens?” helps you recall the story. “What makes an encounter feel strange?” gives the group something to investigate.

Write down a first thought, then read a short passage closely. Keep the source beside your note and leave room for another interpretation.

Try it

Choose one scene. List two details you notice before deciding what they mean. This collection offers prompts, not a single correct reading.
